In July 2018 the FDA announced they were investigating reports of DCM in dogs in relation to certain pet foods and in June 2019 issued a report which included a list of brands connected to reported DCM cases. There were no reported cases where dogs showed DCM symptoms while being fed a ZIWI Peak recipe.
More recently in June 2020 a scientific review of DCM in dogs found no evidence to prove the link between DCM and grain-free dog food. They noted that DCM is believed to be present in 0.3 to 1 million dogs in the USA and there has been no firm linkage between food and DCM.
